JOB SUMMARY
As a Inventory Analyst in an Engineered to Order, Made to Order, Lean manufacturing environment, you will collaborate with our Manufacturing Planners to assist in coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments, and externally with suppliers, according to daily, weekly and monthly production and delivery schedules. Through the development and maintenance of a strong working knowledge of products, materials and material applications, you will be responsible for inventory cycle counts, performing stock analysis, conducting year end physical and WIP inventory. You will also be responsible to coordinate purchase order releases to suppliers of replenishable stock items, as well as shop, safety and office supplies under the supervision of the Manufacturing Planner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform stock analysis in order to set optimal stock levels
· Create and maintain replenishable items list
· Physically organize floor locations and ascribe labels to goods
· Process inventory adjustments in Quick Books and conduct weekly cycle counts
· Participate and eventually lead yearend inventory and WIP count
· Issuing purchase orders replenishable stock for shop, office and safety supplies
· Expedite purchase orders
· Communicate with outside suppliers regarding shipping or receiving issues/concerns and report outcomes
· Identify and manage profitable relationships with existing and new suppliers, provide risk management on vendor contracts, and negotiate favourable terms that benefit the company.
· Match purchase orders and packing slips to the corresponding invoice for timely payment; this ensures that available vendor discounts are taken and late payment penalties are avoided.
· Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles; this will make the department more efficient and effective regarding the purchasing and flow of inventory through the manufacturing process.
· Be able to audit Quickbooks Inventory units of measure, allocations, pricing etc.
· May be asked to perform other duties at a lower level or higher level of proficiency
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an inventory management / purchasing role.
- Familiarity with Quickbooks
- Familiarity with book keeping an asset
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as with cross functional teams.
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Solid organizational skills; ability to develop and execute a plan of action.
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
- Outstanding multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- Effective use of resources to accomplish work assignments
- Disciplined in prioritization and organization of work
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with solid command of the English language.
- Experience in freight management an asset
EDUCATION
University degree with emphasis on Operations Management or Community College 3-year diploma with a solid knowledge of MRP/business concepts
COMPENSATION
This is a full time position; 40 hours per week is typical, but as we are project based, hours may vary. Starting Salary Range : $45,000 to $50,000 per year based on experience.
