Duties
- Develop and oversee transportation strategies, including freight management, fleet management, and dispatching to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries.
- Plan demand forecasting, to align with operational needs.
- Lead process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards protocols and maintain accurate documentation for all activities.
Skills
- Strong background in leading highly unionized workforce and operations management with hands-on experience in transportation planning.
- Proficiency in data analysis skills to interpret logistics data, optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities such as dispatching, picking & packing, procurement, and category management.
- Ability to lead process improvement projects and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, carriers, and stakeholders across the operations.
