Position Overview:
We are seeking a .NET Developer / Programmer Analyst to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise applications and services. The successful candidate will work within an established development environment using Microsoft technologies to design, build, test, and maintain secure and reliable software solutions.
This role requires strong experience with the Microsoft development stack, including .NET, SQL Server, and Visual Studio, along with experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS) for version control and project tracking. The developer will also contribute to maintaining well-documented source code and supporting bilingual software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and services using the .NET framework.
- Develop and maintain software solutions using .NET 4.5+ runtime and Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 or newer.
- Work with Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2 or newer) to develop, maintain, and optimize database components.
- Utilize Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2017 or later for source control, task management, and development workflow tracking.
- Maintain clear and well-structured source code documentation and ensure updates are properly recorded in TFS.
- Develop and maintain bilingual software solutions to support both English and French language requirements.
- Support document generation and formatting processes using Microsoft Word integration within applications.
- Collaborate with business analysts, technical teams, and stakeholders to understand requirements and implement solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Contribute to system enhancements and ongoing improvements to application functionality and reliability.
- Apply technical knowledge of the Family Support Order Services system and related subsystems where applicable.
Skills & Qualifications:
The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following:
- University Degree in Information Technology or a related field
- Community College Diploma in Information Technology (minimum 2-year program)
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
- Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2017 or newer.
- Demonstrable experience developing applications using:
- .NET Framework 4.5 or newer
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 or newer
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or newer
- Experience developing and maintaining bilingual software solutions.
- Experience documenting and commenting source code according to development standards.
- Experience updating development artifacts and tasks within TFS.
- Experience with document generation using Microsoft Word.
- Technical knowledge of the Family Support Order Services system and its subsystems is considered an asset.
