Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, Cloud Operations & Infrastructure, the Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting secure cloud services, infrastructure platforms, and operational processes. The role includes roadmap development, cloud governance, technical leadership, and troubleshooting across cloud and on‑premises environments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead implementation of secure platform operations and services strategies.
  • Develop governance, operational policies, standards, and technical roadmaps
  • Architect and deploy cloud and on‑premises solutions.
  • Design and deliver new cloud capabilities and features.
  • Monitor production systems, investigate issues, and drive continuous improvements.
  • Automate operational tasks across cloud and on‑prem infrastructure.
  • Perform upgrades, repairs, risk identification, and project contributions.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and after‑hours support when required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with physical and cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure.
  • Development of governance, operational policies, standards, and technical roadmaps
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Terraform and/or ARM templates.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management, OS security, virtualization, and storage.
  • Experience with Windows technologies (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, System Center, SharePoint, PKI).
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitoring, SolarWinds, or Stackdriver.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Cloud or infrastructure‑related certifications are an asset.

This is a Remote Contract ideally based in British Columbia but other locations in Canada will be considered.
