POSITION OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the General Manager (GM)) of Gather, the Bartender will have outstanding customer service and deliver high quality beverage items to Gather guests to execute a best-in-class experience. The Bartender, Gather will be a master of their beverage craft through presentation, precision, and care while providing guests with a positive, warm, and engaging service. The Bartender will provide their expertise on cocktails and wine recommendations based on guest preferences while highlighting food and drink as a cultural unifier.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with new staff training and coaching, following health & safety regulations, and assisting peers when required.
Key Accountabilities
Bartending
- Provides exceptional customer service to all customers by greeting and acknowledging all customers as they come in contact with.
- Assists patrons select food and beverage choices by presenting menu and offering cocktails/beverages and courses.
- Explains menu options to patrons.
- Answers food and beverage preparation questions and seeks guidance from kitchen staff on special dietary requirement questions.
- Records and transmits customer’s orders to kitchen ensuring options are clearly recorded.
- Punches orders into POS; issues bills and accepts payment from customers.
- Acts as ambassador to APC answering questions about attractions and special events happening both in the restaurants and within the park as a whole.
- Ensure service excellence standards to enhance and improve the guest experience.
- Monitor inventory and restaurant supplies, ensuring sufficient stock levels.
- Adhere to all LGCA and MB Health regulations.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all statutory regulations affecting restaurant health and safety, ensuring that any safety hazards are identified and rectified.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the restaurant areas including refrigerators, storerooms and that food products are rotated to ensure high standards of freshness.
- Assist in the deliveries to ensure the products have been delivered, stored, and secured according to the standards set by provincial health regulations when required.
- Respond in a positive and timely manner to all internal and external guest requests and complaints.
Training and Administration
- Assists with the training of new bartenders.
- Coaches and mentors junior bartending staff on an ongoing basis.
- Intervenes and aids staff when necessary to promote customer satisfaction.
- Ensures all areas are stocked and operating efficiently.
- Ensures maintenance of the restaurant and equipment to Park Hospitality standards.
- Enforces proper sanitation and preparation practices and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with effective cash management and cash-out procedures.
- Acts as a key holder for opening the restaurant when required.
- Acts as a liaison between the kitchen staff and front of house staff to resolve problems.
