Description of Position
Community Living Mississauga has been a source of support for people who have an intellectual disability since 1955. Community Living Mississauga provides a variety of supports and services to people who have an intellectual disability, including: residential supports, employment resources, community engagement, Supported Independent Living, respite, and various day support options. Description of Duties
Working under the guidance of a Manager, this position is responsible for providing clerical support for people whose funding is administered through Community Living Mississauga.
Provides clerical and administrative support as part of the Administrative Services team, including processing invoices, preparing documents and reports, tracking funding usage, and preparing letters/mailings.
Provides customer service support to families of people whose funding is administered through Community Living Mississauga, including verifying admissible expenses.
Tracks funding usage and notifies Manager in a timely manner of any discrepancies or inadmissible expenses that have been submitted.
Reviews documentation and ensures that all amounts, payments, and general information is accurate.
Identifies barriers to prompt payment or processing of invoices and works to proactively resolve barriers.
Liaises with outside agencies, families, and people supported to ensure payments, contracts, invoices, etc. are up to date and accurate.
Ensures signatures and approvals are obtained by the proper parties in a timely manner.
Qualifications
A recognized certificate or Community College diploma in accounting, office administration, or customer service.
A minimum of 1- 3 years full time relevant work experience with Finance, Accounting, Office Administration, or Customer Service.
Prior experience working in a non-profit or charitable organization.
Demonstrated flexibility and excellent organizational skills with ability to apply time-management with close attention to detail and timelines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
High computer proficiency in programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), databases, etc.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal and all communication skills (oral and written).
Fluent in French (or additional second language) an asset.
