3D Modeler / Graphic Designer

Location: Queens, NY

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: $25–$28 per hour, based on portfolio and applicable skills

About the Position

A growing sign company is looking for a creative and detail-oriented 3D Modeler to join our expanding design and marketing department.

The main responsibility of this position will be creating 3D models and visualizations that help customers understand how their completed projects will look. This may include sign mockups, website images, instructional graphics, how-to visuals, product concepts, installation diagrams, and other presentations needed to clearly communicate an idea.

This person will also operate our large-format printer and work closely with the Head Designer to create marketing materials for the company.

Strong graphic design skills are a major plus. Candidates who can also assist with website graphics, layouts, branding, and other marketing projects may qualify for higher compensation within the posted range.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D models and realistic visualizations for customer presentations
• Produce sign mockups and project renderings using measurements, photographs, drawings, and customer-provided information
• Apply realistic materials, finishes, colors, lighting, and textures to 3D models
• Create images and visual content for the company website
• Develop how-to graphics, instructional visuals, diagrams, and presentation materials
• Operate a professional large-format printer
• Prepare and review files for large-format printing
• Work alongside the Head Designer on brochures, catalogs, advertisements, presentations, social media graphics, and other marketing materials
• Revise designs and models based on customer feedback or project requirements
• Maintain organized project files and production-ready artwork
• Accurately read, understand, and work with measurements
• Help visualize custom products, signs, mounting methods, materials, and installation concepts
• Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines

Qualifications

• Strong 3D modeling and visualization skills
• Strong understanding of textures, materials, finishes, lighting, proportions, and realistic presentation
• Ability to accurately measure and work with dimensions
• Ability to create clear and professional customer-facing mockups
• Experience operating or willingness to learn a large-format printer
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to take direction, communicate clearly, and work as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, organized, and willing to learn

Software

Candidates may use the 3D modeling software they are most comfortable with.

Experience with CAD-based software is preferred but not required. Relevant programs may include:

• AutoCAD
• Fusion 360
• SolidWorks
• SketchUp
• Rhino
• Blender
• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe InDesign

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, especially for candidates interested in assisting with graphic design, website content, and marketing materials.

Experience

We are evaluating candidates primarily based on the quality of their portfolio, technical ability, creativity, and attention to detail—not the number of years they have worked in the industry.

Experience in signage, fabrication, architecture, product visualization, environmental graphics, printing, or marketing design is helpful but not required.

Portfolio Required

A portfolio must be submitted for consideration.

Portfolios should include examples of 3D models, realistic textures, product visualizations, architectural or environmental mockups, signage, instructional graphics, or other relevant creative work.

Graphic design, website, branding, print-production, and marketing examples are also encouraged.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
