Senior Producer (Video Lead), BBC Urdu

Role Overview

BBC Urdu is seeking a dynamic Senior Producer to lead video storytelling and formats. This role will be central in planning, shaping editorial direction, guiding reporters, and ensuring impactful, innovative content for our audiences. The Senior Producer will report to the BBC Urdu-India Lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Video leadership: Drive video-first storytelling, ensuring compelling narratives and creative formats.
• Story ideation: Plan and develop engaging stories that resonate with Urdu-speaking audiences.
• Editorial guidance: Mentor and support reporters, providing clear editorial direction and feedback.
• Workflow management: Assist the BBC Urdu-India Lead in coordinating assignments, deadlines, and production schedules.
• Language excellence: Ensure Urdu language quality and accuracy across all video content.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong command of Urdu language (written and spoken).
• Proven experience in video production and editorial leadership.
• Strong organizational skills to manage workflow and deadlines.
• Deep understanding of audience needs and digital media trends.

Additional Requirement

• Candidates will be required to undergo an Urdu language test as part of the selection process.
