The goal of our Platform Product Group engineers is to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform that operates with speed, efficiency, and quality. Our teams are responsible for critical infrastructure essential to Coinbase's operations, including teams focused on Product Foundations (Identity, Payment, Risk, Proofing & Regulatory, Finhub), alongside Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure.

The Travel Rule Platform Engineering Team is committed to establishing TRUST as the premier solution for Crypto Travel Rule compliance, ensuring customer privacy and security while meeting industry standards. As a member of this team, you will create seamless end-to-end user experiences, utilize frontend technologies for user interfaces, and develop backend services using a microservices architecture. You will influence the multi-year roadmap for enhancing engineering and platform development at Coinbase while closely collaborating with product teams to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop distributed systems.
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps.
• Prioritize projects, deadlines, and deliverables leveraging your technical expertise.
• Mentor and train team members on best design practices and coding standards.
• Design and implement foundational infrastructure components that support all engineering teams in production (e.g., dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration).
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to fulfill customer requirements.

What We Look For:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven experience architecting and developing solutions to complex, ambiguous problems with substantial impact.
• A deep passion for creating an open financial system that connects the world.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial systems focused on reliability and security.
• Background in online fraud prevention systems.
• Experience in a rapidly growing company, especially during scaling phases.
• Familiarity with transitioning from monolithic applications to microservices.
• Proficiency in Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, and Postgres.
• Experience with crypto, especially in onchain activities such as interacting with Ethereum addresses and engaging with decentralized applications.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $218,025 to $256,500 USD. Full-time offers at Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
