Job Description
As a Real Estate Counsel at Cognizant Corporate, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive legal support and strategic advice on a broad range of real estate matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various real estate agreements such as leases, sale and purchase agreements, joint development agreements, licenses, and MOUs.
- Offering legal advice and support on property acquisitions, disposals, leasing, due diligence, and title verification.
- Advising on zoning, land use, RERA compliance, and regulatory matters affecting real estate transactions.
- Managing litigation and dispute resolution related to real estate, including coordination with external legal counsel.
- Conducting legal risk assessments and developing strategies to mitigate potential risks in real estate transactions.
- Staying updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to inform management of any changes.
- Assisting in drafting, reviewing, and implementing company policies and procedures related to real estate matters.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate business growth and operational efficiency.
Qualifications required for this role:
- Bachelors degree in law (LLB) from a reputed institution.
- Minimum 68 years of post-qualification experience in real estate law, preferably with a reputed law firm or in-house legal team in the real estate sector.
- Strong knowledge of Indian property law, RERA, land acquisition, stamp duty, registration, and municipal regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in handling large-scale real estate transactions, due diligence, and title verification.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and business acumen.
