Job Title: Software Engineer, Backend

Salary: $160K – $200K + competitive equity

Job Description: Join a 15-person team building security tools that people actually use, not shelfware that gets bought and ignored. This company prevents insider breaches before they happen with agentic AI that works alongside SOC teams, integrating with over 100 enterprise security platforms like Okta, CrowdStrike, and Slack. Series A funded by 8VC with $10M plus raised, a founding team from Google, Atlassian, Yahoo, and Microsoft, and a Go and PostgreSQL stack on GCP with real AI and LLM integration work. They are hiring 2 backend engineers now and plan to double the engineering team by end of year. You will ship weekly, have the option to talk directly with customers, and own significant platform components from day one.

What you will do:

• Build and maintain backend systems and integrations that connect the platform to over 100 enterprise security tools, designing and developing core platform components that process large-scale security data including event-driven pipelines using Google Cloud Pub/Sub
• Work on the multi-tenant data layer implementing features like risk scoring, anomaly detection, and time-series aggregation, contributing to infrastructure management on GCP including deployment pipelines, monitoring, and observability across a Go and PostgreSQL stack
• Collaborate with a small tight-knit team to ship features weekly, debug production issues, and bring genuine curiosity and high agency to problems in the cybersecurity space that most engineers never get close to

The ideal candidate:

• 5 to 10 years of backend or fullstack engineering experience with a strong interest in transitioning to a backend-heavy role if coming from fullstack, deep hands-on Go experience with concrete production-grade examples you can speak to clearly, and strong programming fundamentals across distributed systems and system design
• Background at an early-stage startup or high-growth environment, ideally with some exposure to the security space through internship or full-time work, and the kind of high-agency self-directed mindset that means you are already solving problems before anyone asks you to
• Based in the SF Bay Area and able to work hybrid in Redwood City at least 3 days a week if under 7 years of experience, not looking for a structured big-company 9 to 5 environment, and genuinely excited about building security tools that actually get used
