Position Summary:

The Company accepts and trains new hires with less than one year of experience for its Driver Training Program. Delivery Driver Helpers are provided coaching and experience in driver duties to gain the necessary training to become a professional driver.

While the main position responsibility is upfront, other assignments may also be assigned during the work period:

Successfully driving a commercial motor vehicle involves adherence to strict safety protocols

Incorporate the use of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) like electric pallet jacks and hand trucks in your warehouse to enhance productivity

The effective operation of vehicles and equipment in cramped quarters can be challenging and requires special skills and training

Carry out deliveries of goods to our customers using varied transportation modes that suit their needs

The conveyance of products in multi-temperature conditions can be executed through different means, including manual conveyors, carts, or pallets

Listening to feedback and incorporating it into your service can also help to improve the overall satisfaction of both customers and store personnel

The accuracy and completeness of delivery and pick up paperwork significantly impact the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the process

Acquire all the products that have been returned as needed

The company's assets, such as payments, carts, and pallets, have to be collected to assess their current status.

By conducting pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections, drivers can identify potential problems early on and take action to prevent accidents and breakdowns

Follow the company's training and certification guidelines and complete them promptly

Maintaining good communication with your shift supervisor, dispatch, and colleagues helps to establish clear expectations, roles, and responsibilities within your team

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills:

You should be at least 21 years old to participate

To be considered, a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or equivalent military driving experience is required

To comply with the DOT's standards, it is essential to have a driving history that meets the necessary requirements

A vital requirement for this role is the capability to lift items within the weight range of 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. frequently

To be considered for this position, you must be able to pass a thorough background check, DOT Physical examination, and drug screening

Essential Proficiencies and Expertise:

Both a High School diploma and a GED serve as proof of education and can be required for certain job applications

Customer service experience:

Knowledge of controlling a handheld ordering device and handling work in multiple temperature settings

Experience in stocking and inventory management is vital for businesses looking to streamline their operations and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace

People with experience in delivering groceries, wholesale food distribution, or transporting beverages have learned how to prioritize efficiency to meet tight schedules and plan effective routes
