We are hiring a Manager, Content Marketing to bring our mission, impact, and participant stories to life across programs, partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and organizational priorities. This role is ideal for a communications professional looking to grow their skills and gain hands-on experience in non-profit communications.

In this role, you will help build and strengthen CNIB’s core communications assets, including participant testimonial banks, story libraries, and other resource materials that support programs, fundraising, and organizational priorities. You will conduct interviews, develop written content, coordinate special projects, and contribute to a wide range of marketing and communications initiatives.

Scope and Summary of Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the development and organization of high-quality, accessible marketing and communications assets that advance CNIB’s mission. This includes building testimonial and story banks, writing communications materials across channels, developing content resources, and providing project coordination and tactical support across a range of communications initiatives.

Accountabilities

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Manager, Content Marketing supports the execution of communications initiatives by creating content assets, coordinating special projects, and assisting with the implementation of marketing and communications activities.

The Manager works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to gather information, develop materials, and ensure projects are delivered accurately and on time.

Essential Functions

The position entails, but is not limited to the following:

1. Story Sourcing & Narrative Development

  • Conduct interviews with CNIB participants, volunteers, donors, and staff to support the development of testimonial banks and story libraries.
  • Build and maintain a continuous storytelling pipeline highlighting people, programs, partners, volunteers, and community impact.
  • Source stories through interviews, field visits, conversations, and cross‑team relationships.
  • Translate messaging direction into emotionally resonant content for campaigns, fundraising initiatives, events, and partner activations.
  • Maintain an organized story library, including tagging, indexing, permissions, and regular updates.

2. Content Development & Asset Creation

  • Write, edit, and format content for web, email, social media, internal communications, and print materials.
  • Produce multi‑format stories including recaps, interviews, narrative summaries, and campaign‑ready digital assets.
  • Build decks, briefs, story packages, and narrative toolkits supporting events, campaigns, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with creative partners to produce visual storytelling assets (photo, video).
  • Provide light video editing — clipping, adapting, or preparing short‑form video content for campaigns.

3. Project Coordination & Cross Team Support

  • Coordinate special projects across Marketing & Communications, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Support internal stakeholders by gathering information, preparing materials, and providing communications guidance.
  • Assist with scheduling, asset management, task tracking, and meeting preparation as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write clearly and adapt tone for different audiences.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in storytelling, content development, and accessible communications.
  • Professional, collaborative, adaptable, and proactive.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of design, video, or content creation tools is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CP Style is an asset.

Experience and Education:

  • Post‑secondary education in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant work experience in content marketing, communications, storytelling, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a non-profit, public sector, or community‑focused organization is an asset.
