Job Description
The Civil Justice (CJ) Associate Director of Programs leads key initiatives to expand and streamline access to CJ’s programs. This position provides program leadership and applies a holistic approach to improve how clients are screened, connected, and served across multiple platforms and programs. This position reports to CJ's Deputy Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with CJ's leadership team, manage smooth operation of CJ’s programs.
- Manage operations of the Access to Counsel in Evictions - Coordinated Intake System, ensuring effective screening, triage, and referrals for tenants in housing crisis.
- Supervise the Maryland Justice Passport (MJP) Program Manager, supporting their day-to-day work and escalating complex programmatic decisions to the Deputy Director as needed.
- Supervise the Client Support and Compliance Manager, overseeing intake operations and working with the CJ leadership team to address challenges that require senior-level guidance.
- Collaborate with CJ’s Tech Lead to identify technology enhancements required to improve services delivery and accommodate partner organization’s requests.
- Maintain and expand relationships with partner organizations including legal services providers and grassroots service organizations, and support senior leadership in funder engagement as needed.
- Manage outreach efforts for CJ’s programs;
- Assist with grant reporting by tracking program data, documenting outcomes, drafting grant reports and preparing materials to support the Deputy Director's compliance and reporting responsibilities.
- Use data and user feedback to identify needed track programmatic performance and support service delivery enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience working in legal or social services delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to independently identify challenges and recommend solutions;
- Strategic thinker with excellent communication, writing, and project management skills.
- Commitment to tenant rights, racial equity, and access to justice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams; experience working across technology and program delivery teams is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Maryland’s civil legal services delivery ecosystem preferred;
- Understanding of intake processes, service delivery models, and user-centered design.
- Experience with systems innovation or cross‑organizational coordination.
