Job Description
We at CJP and Sabrang India shine light on the stories behind the headlines. CJP has an active human rights programme with its unique four pillars: Minority Rights, Citizenship, Land and Forest Rights, Hate Watch, Migrant Workers, HR Fellowship Programmes, HR Campaigns. Lawyers and Law Graduates and Legal Researchers would be required to be involved at multiple levels at the level of research, communication, programme development and advocacy.
Responsibilities and Duties.
The work would involve:
- Writing and research content, articles, analyses.
- Features Articles around the concerns of Human Rights and Social Justice. Investigations and Interviews.
- Tracking Legal cases, reporting on them, analysing judgements.
- Keeping track of fake news, hate news etc and developing our Hate Tracker Analysis and series.
- Research and compilation of content for ‘In Facts’ where we explore an issue factually through brief, analytical segments, divided into sub-heads.
- Research and compilation of content for fact-sheets on human rights issues. This will include facts, figures, legal developments, and executive and policy decisions.
- Writing creative articles around CJP’s key programmes be it Peace Building & HateWatch/HateHatao, Citizenship, Legal Interventions, Forest Rights. (Any of the programmes around the four pillars)
Please note, we are only looking for individuals who are genuinely interested in human rights and social justice. The work is very serious and requires mature and committed people.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications.
Journalism degree/diploma will be preferred
Law Background
Proficiency in English and Hindi, Marathi will be preferred.
