The CITICS CLSA Equity Derivatives team (EQD) offers its clients a wide range of products and services meeting different needs like risk management, investment return enhancement, financing, and cross-border market access. EQD’s products and services include Prime Services, Derivative Products, Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS), and Market Making.
EQD Quants is a team of quantitative analysts who specialize in quantitative finance and technology and work closely with EQD traders, sales and structuring teams. EQD quants design and implement EQDs e-trading infrastructure, market making systems, and trading systems for OTC non-linear, QIS, OTC prime and delta one.
This role will be primarily focussed on developing and enhancing market making and trading strategies for EQD in India and other Asia-Pacific markets. The hire will report locally to the head of EQD Quant India and work closely with (a) EQD developers in Hong Kong and London, (b) EQD Quants in Mumbai, Hong Kong, and London (c) CITICS CLSA’s technology teams in Pune and Asia-Pacific. The position will report to the EQD Quant India head in Mumbai.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
The day-to-day responsibilities of the EQD Developer will include—
- Development of front-office low-latency trading and execution infrastructure and applications using C++ in India and other Asia-Pac markets
- Maintenance of the above infrastructure and applications
- Understanding business requirements and trading strategies and translating them into technical specifications
- Optimizing code of EQD’s trading infrastructure and improving application performance
- Troubleshooting and debugging EQD’s trading and market making strategies
- Staying up to date with latest technological trends
- Production support (as and when required)
- Building and enhancing infrastructure and libraries that can be reused by other EQD developers
Requirements
- (Mandatory) A bachelor’s degree in engineering from a top-tier Indian institute (e.g., the top IITs) and/or a master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Quantitative Finance, etc.) from a top-tier Indian or foreign university
- (Mandatory) 6+ years of professional industry experience, ideally in development of trading strategies
- (Mandatory) Knowledge of options, futures and other equity derivatives, especially in India
- (Mandatory) Strong programming skills and experience in C++ (17.0 or later) and Python
- (Mandatory) Self-starter with a passion for coding and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- (Mandatory) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver solutions under pressure
- (Optional) Experience developing market making and trading strategies in India/APAC markets
- (Optional) Experience working as a developer in a market making or trading environment
- (Optional) Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- (Optional) Experience of trading on the NSE or BSE using low-latency or ultra-low-latency real-time data
- (Optional) Experience of working on FPGAs
- (Optional) Ability to adapt to new technologies and frameworks
