The DevOps Engineer plays a crucial role in identifying and resolving operational performance issues while implementing security best practices across our suite of DevOps tools. EDaaS is a dynamic team dedicated to modernizing and evolving development workflows within Cisco IT & Engineering using cutting-edge, cloud-native tools and processes. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, eager to gather, manage, and analyze large volumes of data to drive insights and inform decision-making.   • *Your Impact **

+ Developing object-oriented Python code to process large sets of REST API data

+ Assistin automating infrastructure provisioning via configuration management tools

+ Enhance monitoring and log analysis systems

+ Assistwith development of automation via configuration management tools and scripts

  • *Minimum Qualifications **

+ Linux/Unix Administration & Scripting:Proficiencyin Linux/Unix administration (especially RedHat) with 2+ years of scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and troubleshooting.

+ CI/CD & DevOps Tools: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git, GitHub, GitLab), build automation (Jenkins,CircleCI), artifact management (Artifactory), and integrating DevOps toolchains.

+ Configuration Management: Practical experience with configuration management platforms such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or Salt.

+ API Integration & Automation: Experience integrating and automating systems using REST APIs.

+ Networking & Troubleshooting: Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI layers, DNS), general knowledge of reverse proxies (Nginx,HAProxy, Apache), and strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.

  • *Preferred Qualifications **

+ Enterprise Application Administration & Monitoring: Experience administering and monitoring applications at the enterprise level, such as GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, and Artifactory.

+ Linux Security Best Practices: Proven ability to apply security best practices in Linux environments.

+ Monitoring Technologies: Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, AppDynamics) for application systems.

+ Docker & AWS Production Experience: Production experience creating and using Docker containers, as well as working with AWS technologies (EC2, RDS, ELB, EKS).

+ Agile Scrum Familiarity: Understanding and experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.

Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco’s plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time.

U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco’s policies:

+ 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees

+ 1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco

+ Non-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay pe
