Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Music Teacher role based in Bengaluru, with proficiency in at least two of the following instruments: Guitar, Ukulele, Drums, Violin, and Piano. The Music Teacher will plan and deliver engaging individual and group lessons, following COFMA’s structured curriculum while adapting to diverse learning styles and levels. Responsibilities include teaching instrument technique, music theory, ear training, and performance skills, as well as preparing learners for recitals, examinations, and live performances. The role involves assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, maintaining lesson records, and collaborating with the academic team to refine teaching materials. The Music Teacher will also participate in workshops, events, and outreach activities that strengthen the academy’s learning community.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Music Theory and general Music knowledge, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to learners of different ages.
• Proven Music Performance skills on at least two instruments (Guitar, Ukulele, Drums, Violin, Piano), with confidence in solo and ensemble settings.
• Experience or formal training in Music Education, including lesson planning, classroom management, and learner-centered pedagogy.
• Proficiency in Piano is an added advantage, especially for teaching fundamentals, accompaniment, and theory-based exercises.
• Relevant certification, diploma, or degree in Music or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Ability to work with children, teens, and adults in a patient, inclusive, and motivating manner.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with faculty, learners, and caregivers.
• Willingness to work on-site in Bengaluru, including evenings or weekends as required for classes and performances.
