School Counselor (Part Time)

Cathedral School is searching for a School Counselor as our newest team member. The successful candidate will be committed to inspiring students in Kindergarten through Grade 8, understanding the unique developmental and social needs of students, and engaging with our vibrant and dynamic school community.

Position: Part Time School Counselor

Start date: September 1, 2026

Required: British Columbia Teachers' certification, Master's degree in School Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or a related field. Independent School experience is an asset and experience working with grades K-8 is an asset.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide individual, small-group, and crisis counseling to address social-emotional concerns, interpersonal dynamics, and behavioral challenges.
  • Engage with families, educators, and community agencies to design and implement holistic support strategies for student development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and coach students in the cultivation of self-regulation, organizational strategies, and the setting of achievable educational goals.
  • Collaborate with faculty to establish social-emotional learning (SEL) goals and formalize individualized student support plans.
  • Support staff and students in restorative justice practices, conflict resolution programming, and the coordination of peer mentorship initiatives.

Annual Salary Range: $61 554 to $102 128 depending on FTE, education, and experience. Application Deadline Date: May 8, 2026.
