Job Title: Accounting Manager

Location: Mohali, India

Job Type: Full-time

Reports To: CFO/VP

Shift: US Shift / Night Shift

Industry Preference: Hospitality / Restaurants / Multi-unit Operations

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting and bookkeeping functions for US-based restaurant operations. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in US accounting standards, bookkeeping, payroll processing, reconciliations, financial reporting, along with proven team handling and leadership experience. Experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead, train, and supervise the accounting team.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Review team work for accuracy and compliance.
  • Mentor junior staff and support skill development.
  • Build strong coordination between accounting, operations, and management teams.

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for US entities.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Manage vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections follow-up.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, merchant accounts, and POS settlements.

Payroll Management

  • Process and review employee payroll accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate timesheets, overtime, deductions, reimbursements, and benefits entries.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee compensation data.
  • Work with payroll providers / processors for timely payroll completion.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting and statutory requirements.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
  • Analyze financial statements and identify variances.
  • Prepare management reports and MIS dashboards.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.

Payroll & Compliance Support

  • Support tax filings, sales tax, 1099s, and year-end documentation.
  • Work with CPAs / external accountants for audits and tax matters.

Hospitality / Restaurant Accounting

  • Reconcile sales from POS systems and delivery platforms.
  • Monitor food cost, labor cost, discounts, voids, refunds, and comps.
  • Track inventory valuation and COGS.
  • Manage multi-location reporting for restaurant units.

Process Improvement

  • Implement accounting controls and SOPs.
  • Improve workflows for reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely documentation and record management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • 8+ years experience in US Accounting / Bookkeeping.
  • Strong payroll processing experience for US employees.
  • Minimum 4+ years team handling / supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, ADP, Paychex, or similar systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting).
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations and month-end close.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality / restaurant accounting.
  • Experience handling multi-entity or multi-location books.
  • Knowledge of POS systems such as Toast, Adora, Square, etc.
  • Prior experience working with US clients or US companies.

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
