Job Description
Digital Fundraising and Growth Strategist (US)
- Reporting to: Digital Lead
- Location: US Remote—East Coast
- Salary: $85,00-95,000
- Contract: Full-time, permanent role
The Center for Countering Digital Hate is looking for an experienced digital fundraising and growth strategist to mobilize and convert supporter bases for a rapidly growing, international NGO leading global tech reform. Our work regularly drives coverage across major media and reaches audiences on international stages. After years of significant growth, we are expanding our Communications and Cultural Impact team to focus on turning this visibility and engagement into sustained action.
The Role
This role will lead the development and evaluation of strategies across our digital platforms to convert new and existing supporters through fundraising, advocacy, email sign-ups, and more. With a specific focus on digital fundraising, this role will own digital revenue goals for the organization and report into the Digital Lead. The ideal candidate will have experience optimizing content and strategies for conversion (both organic and paid) with expertise in building conversion funnels, developing paid digital programs, and using data to understand what moves people to act.
We are looking for someone who is excited by the challenge of translating attention into action at scale to create a safer online world. The ideal candidate is passionate about building a movement to counter digital harm and is able to turn complex, often abstract issues into clear, compelling content and strategies that move people to give and act.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of CCDH’s digital fundraising strategy, with ownership over online revenue targets and overall performance
- Build and optimize end-to-end supporter journeys from first touch (whether digital content, media or campaigns) through support and retention.
- Identify and scale high-performing acquisition and conversion tactics across channels, including email, organic social, paid media, web, and advocacy campaigns.
- Develop and manage paid digital fundraising programs including testing and optimization, advising the Digital Lead and Head of Comms and Cultural Impact on budgets and spend.
- Work closely with the broader Comms and Cultural Impact team, as well as Development and Public Affairs teams, to translate moments of visibility into timely fundraising and advocacy opportunities.
- Design and implement testing strategies (A/B testing, landing pages, messaging, creative) to improve conversion rates.
- Analyze campaign performance, using data to continuously refine strategy and identify further opportunity for growth.
- Oversee the development, alongside the Digital Lead, of compelling fundraising and conversion-focused content—including the writing of fundraising emails, social media posts, and more—that creates urgency and leads to action.
- Strengthen supporter retention and lifetime value through email journeys, recurring giving strategies, and re-engagement campaigns.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure digital fundraising and growth is integrated into wider department and organizational strategy.
Person Specification
Essential
- 5–7+ years working in digital fundraising or performance marketing, within a nonprofit organization or mission-driven agency.
- A proven track record of driving online revenue growth and improving conversion rates across digital channels.

- Familiarity with CRM and email marketing platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Engaging Networks, or similar), including segmentation and supporter journeys.
- Demonstrated ability to build and optimize multi-step supporter journeys from acquisition through to donation and retention.
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into clear strategic decisions.
- Confidence designing and running A/B tests across messaging, creative, and landing pages.
- Strong storytelling instincts, with an understanding of framing and messaging that motivates people to act.
- A collaborative approach to working both within the Comms and Cultural Impact team and organization more broadly to produce high-performing digital outputs.
