Job Description & Summary

Celestial Aerospace is developing next-generation launch systems with advanced flight and landing architectures. We are hiring a Control Systems Engineer to lead the development, simulation, and validation of flight control systems for our launch vehicles and reusable hopper platforms.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems, real-time flight dynamics, and autonomous vehicle control. This role will directly contribute to vehicle stability, trajectory control, and autonomous landing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop flight control algorithms for launch vehicles and hopper systems
• Build and validate 6-DOF simulations for flight dynamics and vehicle behavior
• Design and tune control loops for TVC, RCS, and actuator systems
• Develop state estimation and sensor fusion algorithms using IMU, GPS, and onboard sensors
• Perform trajectory analysis, stability assessments, and Monte Carlo simulations
• Support SIL/HIL testing and hardware validation activities
• Work on guidance and autonomous landing/control logic
• Integrate flight software with avionics and propulsion systems
• Identify control instabilities, failure modes, and implement mitigation strategies
• Maintain technical documentation, simulation reports, and validation records
• Collaborate with propulsion, avionics, structures, and testing teams for system integration

Mandatory Skill Sets

• Strong understanding of flight dynamics and control theory
• Experience with GNC systems and autonomous vehicle control
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and control system modeling
• Experience with state estimation techniques (Kalman Filter/EKF/UKF)
• Knowledge of TVC systems, actuator dynamics, and sensor fusion
• Familiarity with SIL/HIL testing environments
• Understanding of embedded systems and real-time control software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience

• 3–5 years in aerospace, defense, UAV, robotics, or autonomous systems engineering
• Experience with launch vehicles, missiles, UAVs, VTOL systems, or reusable vehicles preferred
• Exposure to real hardware testing and flight validation is a plus
• Experience with ISRO, DRDO, aerospace startups, or autonomous systems companies preferred

Education Qualification

• M.Tech in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, Robotics, or related engineering fields
