Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough evaluations of clients in their home or community settings, utilizing both standardized and non-standardized tools to assess physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functions.
Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop and implement evidence-based, client-centered intervention plans aimed at enhancing independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and community participation.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with clients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
Community Resource Integration: Connect clients with appropriate community services and supports, facilitating access to resources that promote health and well-being.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) standards and organizational policies.
Education and Advocacy: Provide education to clients and caregivers on strategies to manage daily activities, and advocate for necessary environmental modifications or assistive devices.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in occupational therapy.
Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
Experience: Previous experience in community-based settings is preferred; however, new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply.
