Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Office Administration professional (Contract) to validate our Medical Office Administration program curriculum, training resources, and assessment tools. The ideal candidate will possess strong industry knowledge across medical office procedures, patient scheduling, electronic medical records (EMR), medical terminology, billing and coding, privacy and confidentiality (PHIPA), and professional communication within healthcare settings. This role involves evaluating curriculum materials to ensure alignment with Ministry expectations, occupational competencies, and current healthcare administrative best practices.
Duties
- Serve as a technical and industry authority on medical office administration practices and healthcare service delivery
- Provide expert consultation to ensure training materials align with applicable Ministry requirements, competency-based outcomes, and occupational expectations for entry-level medical office roles
- Review and validate curriculum content, lesson plans, and instructional resources to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current healthcare administrative practices
- Ensure evaluation criteria are measurable, fair, and aligned with stated learning outcomes and Ministry expectations for training quality
- Identify gaps or areas for improvement and provide written recommendations for curriculum enhancement
Qualifications
- Post-secondary credential in Medical Office Administration, Health Administration, Office Administration – Health Services, or a closely related field
- Professional certification/designation (e.g., MOA certification, Health Unit Coordinator, or equivalent) is an asset (not required)
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a medical office, clinic, hospital administration, or related healthcare setting
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario healthcare systems, medical billing (e.g., OHIP), EMR systems, and relevant legislation/standards (e.g., PHIPA)
