As we continue to expand, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team in Washington, D.C., and handle on-site carpentry operations for apartment projects.
Position Overview:
The Journeyman Carpenter will manage carpentry work for construction projects, ensuring that each project is completed with precision, safety, and efficiency. This role requires hands-on carpentry skills and the ability to lead a team of carpenters and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will have a solid, foundational understanding of construction processes, tools, and materials, and the aptitude to manage carpentry crews on large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:
● Lead a team of carpenters in completing rough and finish carpentry tasks for commercial and residential construction projects.
● Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of work.
● Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, including framing, doors, windows, cabinets, and molding.
● Ensure all carpentry work is performed to the highest standard of quality and craftsmanship.
● Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure timely completion of work within project deadlines.
● Manage and oversee job site safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
● Inspect completed work and provide guidance to team members to correct any issues or improve workmanship.
● Assist in estimating and ordering materials as needed, ensuring project timelines are met without delays due to shortages.
● Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition and available when needed.
● Communicate timely & effectively with the CCG supervision & management team.
Qualifications
● Extensive knowledge of rough and finish carpentry techniques, tools, materials, and building codes.
● Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
● Ability to lead a team and manage a project simultaneously, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
● Strong attention to detail, with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
● Knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.
● Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
● Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and dedication to completing projects on time.
● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to various job sites in the Washington, D.C. area.
Preferred Qualifications
● Carpentry certification or relevant trade school education.
● Familiarity with construction regulations and building codes.
● Prior work experience on commercial and high-end residential projects.
