Teaching roles are 10-month positions, which are exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

About the Position:

Academic Technology Coordinator - 10 month

The Academic Technology Coordinator, in conjunction with the Chief Technology Officer and Information Technology Services Team, is responsible for ensuring that all students, families, and teachers in the LEA are able to effectively access and implement instructional technology. The Academic Technology Coordinator will support the development of educational technology strategy, lead learning opportunities, support the Student Information Services team with grading reporting, and manage software accounts. This is a 10-month position, which is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Responsibilities of the Academic Technology Coordinator include:

Instructional Leadership & Pedagogical Support

  • Support the development and implementation of a vision for the role of technology in the classroom
  • Lead campus level technology training on the use of various technology systems at the start of the school year, and provide specific ongoing technology training for staff.
  • Support teachers one-on-one with their technology needs, ensuring that teachers get more support than just training at the beginning of year.
  • Create educational technology guides and materials prepared for distribution to instructional staff
  • Coordinate support with campus specific leadership to ensure our technology systems, implementation, and training align with the vision for professional growth as established by the campus/LEA.
  • Serve on a campus Instructional Leadership Team as a specialist.
  • Help lead the strategic implementation of AI for the LEA, including providing professional development to staff, drafting policy, auditing tools and participating in the AI task force.
  • Coordinate with the Family engagement team to develop family tech training opportunities and other events
  • Oversee student schedule generation, utilizing the school’s scheduling software to automate and finalize individual student timetables

Software Systems, Data & Automation

  • Support the evaluation, selection, and management of or various technology systems, including but not limited to: Canvas, Clever, Google Classroom, IXL, Infinite Campus, Campus Student, Pear Assess, Lexia, and Amplify.
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal tools to automate administrative workflows, data collection, and instructional tracking as needed.
  • Assist the Student Information Services department as needed in troubleshooting support requests with scheduling, gradebooks,and in preparing quarterly reports using our Student Information System Software.
  • Coordinate with the Assessments team to support and monitor our implementation of assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Information Services team to oversee student digital safety protocols and data integrity across platforms. Ensure that classroom software complies with student data privacy standards.

Asset Management & Technical User Support

  • In partnership with the Information Services department, coordinate Support the IT department with asset management of student devices, including providing feedback and support on procurement, deployment, inventory, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Support the Information Services department in articulating campus specific technology needs, including both hardware (i.e. computers, projectors, headphones, charging solutions), software (i.e. platforms, rostering needs)

Support help requests via our universal help ticketing system and routinely staff our shared help desk to address student chromebook support needs.

In addition to the above requirements, teachers must meet the requirements of all hires at Capital City including a criminal background check.
