Position Summary
The AI Micro-Credential Trainer is a full-time member of the CME NL team, responsible for the live virtual facilitation and delivery of applied, hands-on AI training to manufacturing and processing professionals across Newfoundland and Labrador. This role is delivered in co-facilitation with the AI Program Manager, and Keyin College and requires a unique combination of manufacturing industry experience and practical AI fluency; someone who can connect AI concepts to real operational environments and guide participants from early experimentation to structured, workflow-level adoption that delivers measurable results.
The ideal candidate has worked in or closely alongside manufacturing or processing operations and can speak credibly to the challenges, pressures, and priorities that participants bring into the training room.
Key Responsibilities
Live Virtual Training Delivery & Facilitation
- Facilitate engaging, applied, learn-by-doing AI training sessions via live virtual delivery across all three program phases (White Belt, Yellow Belt, and Green Belt)
- Co-deliver programming in collaboration with CME NL AI Program Manager, and Keyin College facilitators, ensuring a seamless and consistent learner experience
- Support participants in completing capstone projects directly tied to their real operational workflows and processes
- Adapt delivery pace and approach to meet learners where they are. Many participants will enter with little to no prior AI experience
- Manage virtual classroom dynamics effectively, maintaining participant engagement and interaction throughout live sessions
Manufacturing-Contextualized Instruction
- Ground all AI instruction in practical manufacturing and processing scenarios, including operations, productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, compliance, supply chain, and reporting
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing environments, safety-sensitive, compliance-driven, and operationally intensive, to support responsible, relevant AI adoption
- Coach participants in identifying and applying AI use cases within their own roles and day-to-day workflows
- Build participant confidence and credibility, particularly when engaging experienced trades, supervisory, and management professionals
Curriculum Delivery & Content Application
- Deliver against established curriculum frameworks developed by CME NL and Keyin College, covering:
- AI fundamentals, prompting strategies, and LLM vs. GPT distinctions
- Responsible and ethical AI use, data security, and intellectual property
- Data analytics and AI-driven decision support
- AI agent creation
- AI-enabled operations, supply chain planning, and workflow optimization
- AI for leadership, change management, and workforce integration
- Industry 4.0, Lean manufacturing, and strategic AI alignment
- Incorporate ethics and governance guidance throughout delivery, including data privacy, bias mitigation, and regulatory compliance
Learner Support & Outcomes Tracking
- Support participants in tracking and documenting AI-enabled time savings and observable workflow improvements
- Monitor learner progression and readiness for advancement through belt levels
- Maintain accurate learner participation and completion records in alignment with program reporting and funder accountability requirements
- Provide timely coaching and feedback to support applied capstone completion and individual learning outcomes
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with the CME NL Program Manager and Keyin College to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all cohorts
- Participate in curriculum review and program refinement discussions informed by participant feedback and evolving sector needs
- Stay current with the rapidly changing AI landscape to ensure training content remains accurate, relevant, and practical
- Contribute resources, prompts, and tools to the CME NL AI Information Hub and Resource Platform for ongoing member access
Qualifications
Required
- 3–5+ years of direct experience in a manufacturing or processing environment (operations, production, quality, supply chain, safety, or related functions)
- Demonstrated practical experience using AI tools in a professional context (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, or equivalent)
- Strong facilitation skills with experience delivering live virtual training or instruction to adult learners
- Ability to translate complex AI concepts into plain-language, practical, and operationally relevant guidance
- Comfortable engaging a wide range of learners, from frontline workers to supervisory and management professionals
- Proficient with virtual training platforms and digital collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams, or equivalent)
- Strong communication, organization, and learner support skills
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred / Assets
- Background in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement (CI), or operational excellence
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and digital manufacturing integration
- Experience in adult education, workforce development, or professional training delivery
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (manufacturing technology, engineering, business, education, or related discipline)
- Understanding of data privacy, AI governance, and responsible technology adoption in industrial settings
- Experience working with SMEs and an understanding of the capacity constraints they operate within
