Digital Performance (Paid Media) Manager - (12-Month Contract)
CanadaOne AutoJob Description
🚀 Join Our Team as a Digital Performance Manager! 🚀
Why This Role Matters
As our Digital Performance Manager, you won’t just run ads. You’ll architect the full-funnel strategy that connects in-market shoppers with the vehicles they want, across every major digital channel.
This is a 12-month contract covering a maternity leave, with a genuine path to a permanent position for the right candidate. It is a full-scope, high-visibility role with direct impact on revenue. You will own a meaningful media budget, partner directly with dealership teams, and have the autonomy to test, learn, and scale what works. If you are a marketer who thrives on connecting well-optimized campaigns to real business outcomes, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Own
Strategy & Budget
- Lead channel strategy across Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, and Online Video - setting the direction for how we reach, engage, and convert automotive shoppers at every stage of the funnel.
- Build and manage channel forecasts and budget allocations, with full accountability to reallocate spend quickly when the data tells you to pivot.
- Contribute to Email, Digital Referral, and CRO initiatives, collaborating with specialists to ensure a cohesive customer journey from first click to showroom visit.
Execution & Optimization
- Partner with dealers and internal marketing teams to align media buying with local market conditions, inventory levels, and seasonal opportunities.
- Develop high-performing ad copy, creative concepts, and landing page experiences that improve lead quality and cost efficiency.
- Track and communicate key performance metrics - including Budget Pacing, New Customer Acquisition, ROAS, and Sales Volume - turning raw data into clear, actionable insights for both marketing and dealership stakeholders.
Testing & Growth
- Design and maintain a structured experimentation roadmap: A/B creative tests, incrementality studies, audience expansion trials, and spend-scaling experiments that compound performance gains over time.
- Evaluate emerging channels, ad formats, and martech tools to uncover incremental audiences and inventory before competitors do.
- Build a culture of intellectual curiosity on the team, where testing is the default and every assumption has a number next to it.
Leadership & Culture
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering an environment built on open feedback, shared accountability, and meaningful opportunities for professional growth.
- Translate complex performance data into plain-language recommendations that dealer teams and senior leadership can act on with confidence.
Must-Haves
- 3-5 years of direct, hands-on experience in performance or growth marketing agency, in-house, or consulting
- Deep platform expertise across Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Performance Max) and Meta Ads (Facebook, Instagram), including campaign architecture, bidding strategies, and audience segmentation
- Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, including event setup, conversion tracking, and attribution modelling
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and reporting models
- Fluency in CPA, CPC, CPM, ROAS, and TCPA with the strategic judgment to know which metrics to optimize for at each stage of the funnel
- The ability to move between big-picture strategy and granular campaign execution with equal strength
- Exceptional communication skills-equally effective presenting a media plan to dealer principals as discussing attribution models with your analytics team
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience managing large-scale consumer marketplaces or high-traffic digital brands with significant media budgets
- Familiarity with both organic and paid acquisition channels, including SEO, content marketing, and organic social
- Exposure to automotive retail, dealership marketing, or similarly complex multi-location business models
- A track record of building and scaling experimentation programs from scratch
