Description 

The Tool Control Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the integrity, availability, inspection, and calibration of tools and equipment used in support of maintenance operations. This role works closely with Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs), support staff, and external vendors to ensure compliance with applicable procedures, calibration requirements, and tool control standards. The position is fully on-site and requires independent work, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain records for tools, gauges, and torque wrenches, ensuring calibration requirements are tracked and completed. 

  • Prepare purchase requests and coordinate the packaging and shipment of tools and equipment requiring external calibration or repair. 

  • Act as a liaison between external vendors and local support personnel, including Tool Control and Ground Support Equipment personnel. 

  • Inspect tool boards and ensure compliance with established tool control procedures. 

  • Engrave, catalogue, and maintain inventory records for new tools and equipment. 

  • Order replacement tools and coordinate repair or replacement of damaged or unserviceable tools. 

  • Support Team Leads with the preparation, submission, and tracking of purchase requests. 

  • Research and coordinate specialty tool requests. 

  • Maintain the tool calibration database and ensure required calibration activities are completed prior to equipment use. 

  • Support vehicle administration activities, including coordinating registrations and arranging vehicle servicing and repairs with external providers. 

  • Assist with inventory control and continuous improvement of tool management processes. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent. 

  • Vocational or technical education in a related field, OR 4-6 years of relevant work experience. 

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Experience maintaining records and databases with a high degree of accuracy. 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 

  • Planning and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks. 

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to support maintenance personnel and internal stakeholders. 

  • Broad knowledge of common hand tools, measuring devices, and related equipment. 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability Security Clearance. 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident). 

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg). 

  • Must be able to work on-site. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience managing a tool calibration system or calibration program. 

  • Experience developing, maintaining, or improving tool control systems. 

  • Familiarity with airworthiness standards and regulatory requirements. 

  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and maintenance support environments. 

  • Experience working in a military environment or on a military base. 

  • Understanding of maintenance activities, equipment inspection, and compliance processes. 

  • Post-secondary education in a technical, maintenance, mechanical, aviation, or related discipline.
