The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to support both the sustainment of a legacy Linux-based platform and its phased migration to Red Hat OpenShift. This role includes maintaining existing Puppet and Cobbler driven system builds while assisting with workload containerization, platform automation, and operational support during the transition to Kubernetes. The position requires strong Linux fundamentals and an interest in modernizing enterprise infrastructure within secure environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Linux administration and system hardening tasks
- Troubleshoot platform and application issues across Linux and container stacks
- Support migration and modernization initiatives
- Maintain documentation and operational runbooks
- Deploy and support Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters under senior guidance
- Assist with cluster upgrades, patching, and operational maintenance
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance
- Containerize applications and support image management
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, or related field
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or higher)
- Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL preferred)
- Experience using tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or similar
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with containerization and image management
Desired:
- Experience working with Kubernetes (OpenShift preferred)
- Exposure to OpenShift in secure or air-gapped environments
- Familiarity with RPM packaging
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet)
- Experience working in Agile teams

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$86,600 - $181,800
