By’s Transport Inc. is looking for the right individual to fill the role of a Dispatcher/ Dispatch Assistant, the right applicant will be : Eager to provide exceptional customer service and communication, enjoy working with people, have a great knowledge of agriculture, love the excitement of scheduling trucks and working in a fast paced environment, thrive in an atmosphere where quick thinking and problem solving are key essentials to a successful day.

The Dispatcher will execute the day-to-day activity of the truck fleet. This includes monitoring of the fleet, accurately distributing, receiving and updating information. The Dispatcher is responsible for identifying and participating in the resolution of issues relating to day to day activity of the driver. The ideal candidate must be well organized, an excellent communicator and have the ability to multitask and have an understanding of timeliness in carrying out daily activities. The ideal candidate will understand that this position has a direct impact on the growth and success of the company and enjoy the challenges and rewards that provides.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

· Identification and resolution of all non-routine or time-sensitive issues that arise during and after regular business hours and direct them to the proper personnel

· Regularly monitor assigned fleet and accurately distribute, receive and update information in our system.

· Management of all satellite, telephone and in-person communications with drivers and customers

· Upkeep of information in computer system including rates, address, and specific instructions

· Demonstrate time management skills and attention to detail

· Provide customers with exceptional customer service

· Supply drivers with proper instructions and directions

· enter all information into dispatch program and monitor the load and driver until load is successfully delivered.

· Adjust to regularly changing priorities at the dispatch desk

· Schedule trucks at locations for loads/unloads

· Communicate constantly with the customer to keep them aware of load/unload times

· Work well with the drivers to make sure their needs and questions are met in a timely manner

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

· Background in scheduling and fleet dispatch

· Working knowledge of Dispatching software AXON

· Highly developed understanding and knowledge of trucking industry, regulations, standards and best practices, and DOT hours of service

· High level of Integrity, work ethic, and demonstrate leadership skills

· Knowledge of Canadian driving rules and regulations

· Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands

· Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines

· Ability to work Independently and a self-starter

· Must be a team player

· Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple tasks at once.

· Dedicated experience providing customer service in a similar work environment

· Excellent organizational skills and Ability to negotiate and problem solve

· A high level of professional communication ( written and orally)and a strong sense of timeliness

· Demonstrated attention to detail, communication, problem solving and planning abilities

· Geography of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta an asset

· Knowledge of agricultural commodities a MUST.

· Knowledge of laws and weight restrictions an asset

· Strong computer skills, Microsoft Excel, Office, Outlook

· Must speak fluent English

· Ability to take direction

· Degree in Agriculture or Business an asset

· Secondary Education an asset
