IP Staff Attorney - Trademark

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Attorney with 2+ years of Trademark experience. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of trademark registration, branding, enforcement and litigation and will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to our clients across various industries. Key Responsibilities:

• Brand Counseling, Trademark Registration and Prosecution:
• Manage the trademark application process from inception to registration, including conducting comprehensive trademark searches and preparing and filing applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Respond to office actions and coordinate with clients to address any issues that may arise during the registration process.
• Develop and manage global trademark portfolio strategy, including preparing and prosecuting international trademark applications, managing local counsel and communicating with clients.
• Brand and Trademark Enforcement:
• Develop and implement strategies for trademark enforcement, including monitoring and addressing potential infringement issues.
• Draft and send cease-and-desist letters and negotiate settlement agreements, as necessary.
• Coordinate global trademark enforcement efforts, including review of international trademark watch notices, management of international trademark opposition and cancellation matters and oversight of global trademark litigation matters.
• Litigation and Opposition Support:
• Assist in trademark litigation matters, including conducting legal research, preparing pleadings and supporting discovery efforts.
• Collaborate with external counsel as needed on complex litigation cases.
• Collaboration and Teamwork:
• Collaborate closely with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to ensure a cohesive approach to trademark matters.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and outreach efforts to promote the firm’s trademark services.

This position is open to all office locations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in trademark law, with a strong background in trademark prosecution and enforcement.
• Excellent analytical, research and writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
