Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Journeyman Lineman to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems for utility infrastructure. Your expertise will help ensure reliable power delivery, safety, and efficiency across various projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse field service projects, including construction sites, utility upgrades, and maintenance operations.

Duties

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair overhead and underground 13.2 Kv electrical distribution systems using bucket trucks, bucket operation techniques, and climbing methods.
• Rigging heavy equipment and materials safely for installation or repair work on utility poles, transformers, and substations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams to guide installation and maintenance tasks.
• Perform cabling of high voltage and low voltage systems with precision while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
• Conduct utility locating to identify underground cables before excavation or construction activities.
• Use specialized tools such as ohmmeters for testing electrical circuits and ensure systems meet safety standards.
• Support tree trimming activities around power lines to prevent outages and maintain system integrity.
• Operate bucket trucks safely for elevated work while following all safety protocols related to high voltage environments.
• Assist with welding tasks as needed for equipment repairs or structural modifications.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and safety checks conducted during field service operations.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Journeyman Lineman or in a similar electrical field role with a strong background in high voltage systems.
• Demonstrated skill in rigging, climbing, bucket operation, and working at heights using bucket trucks or other aerial devices.
• Experience with industrial or commercial electrician tasks including cabling, wiring, conduit installation, and troubleshooting electrical issues.
• Knowledge of NEC regulations, utility locating procedures, blueprint reading, and safety standards related to electrical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with welding techniques applicable to utility or construction projects is a plus.
• Prior work on construction sites involving electrical installations or maintenance is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate IT infrastructure components related to electrical systems or facility management is advantageous.
