Post End Date: June 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-5 (Employee Group) Job Title: Education Instructor Course Code: EDUC 5P07 Title of Course: Contemporary Issues in Global Education Department & Program: Department of Educational Studies & Undergraduate Educational Studies Duration of Appointment: September 9, 2026-January 4, 2027 Compensation: Effective September 1, 2025 - $36.03 per nominal hour Effective September 1, 2026 - $37.11 per nominal hour The above rates do not include vacation pay. Vacation pay shall be in accordance with Article 16.02. Nominal Hours of Appointment: 195 hours Duties: As per standing instructor positions at Brock, instructors are responsible for student contact time and non-contact time; Contact time includes all classes as scheduled including in-person, blended, online or other teaching formats -Non-classroom work may include preparation of lecture material, student consultation, marking or grading, holding office hours, managing and meeting with teaching assistants, and course administration as may be required -Use of a provided Brock email address for all Brock-related communications; and -Complete the compulsory Brock instructor online tutorial prior to the first class (about 1 hour). -Commitment to responsible time management (e.g. course structuring, punctuality for lectures) -Available for individual consultation with students (e.g. office hours 1.5 hours per week) Qualifications: 1. Doctoral Degree (PhD, EdD) in Comparative or International Education, Global Education, Educational Policy or a related discipline 2. Experience teaching graduate courses on comparative, global or international education, globalization and education or critical perspectives on global education 3. Demonstrated expertise in contemporary global educational issues and international educational systems. 4. Teaching documentation: evidence of teaching competence at the graduate university level, official student and peer evaluations; teaching dossier; and/or references. Ability to work independently without immediate direct supervision. Active participation in curriculum development; sharing of responsibilities in careful test preparation; student assessment; prompt and accurate marking 5. Skills related to the incorporation of web-based pedagogical techniques, materials and resources in the teaching of the course, as required. Competence in the use of email, Brightspace/D2L, internet, common office software (e.g. Word, Excel) and multi-media equipment.
