Heavy Equipment Technician or Automotive Service Technician

Brignall Equipment Solutions is hiring a Heavy Equipment Technician or Automotive Technician (Journeyperson or 3/4th year apprentice) in Fort McMurray, AB to fill a full-time, on-site, Technician role. This role focuses on industrial engines, power generation equipment and heavy equipment diagnostics and repair.

Job Description

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) and/or Automotive Service Technician (AST) is responsible for accurately and efficiently diagnosing and repairing industrial engines, power generation products, power systems products and various makes and models of equipment.

Salary: $62.00 per hour (Journeyperson Rate)

Schedule:

• Day shift
• 7 days on – 7 days off
• Wednesday Start Date – Tuesday End Date
• Overtime available

Your Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure work is completed in a timely manner
• Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional customer service and support
• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a variety of industrial engines such as Cummins, Deutz Diesel, Isuzu Diesel, Kohler/Rehlko Diesel, Perkins, and Yanmar
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Utilize diagnostic tools to accurately diagnose and repair engines and equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical and complex engine systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance services on equipment
• Reassemble, adjust and test new or repaired components

The Position Requirements

• Hold a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) On-Road or Off-Road Ticket
• Or
• Minimum of 3rd year apprenticeship as a Heavy Equipment Technician (HET)
• Or
• Automotive Service Technician (AST) Journeyperson or 4th year apprentice
• Knowledge and experience working with Cummins, Deutz Diesel, Isuzu Diesel, kohler/Rehlko, Perkins and Yanmar
• Knowledge or experience working with Airman, Allmand, Bobcat Portable Power, Generac, Miller Welders, Multiquip Power, Wacker Neuson or similar products
• Excellent technical analysis and troubleshooting skills
• Previous experience diagnosing and repairing industrial engines, generators, light towers, compressors, and other mobile equipment
• Proficient with computers, computer systems and diagnostic equipment
• Previous dealership experience considered an asset
• Ability to work as a team as well on your own without direct supervision
• Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Provide a clean driver’s abstract and maintain a clean driving record
