Responsibilities
Tasks
Personal Support & Care
Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, mobility, and personal hygiene.
Provide personal care to clients with high and complex needs, including non-verbal clients and clients exhibiting aggressive behaviours, while maintaining a calm, respectful, and safe environment.
Provide support to clients requiring advanced personal care, including situations involving faecal smearing, ensuring proper hygiene, infection control, and preservation of client dignity.
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote client comfort and wellbeing.
Support safe transfers, positioning, and the use of mobility aids.
Assist with feeding and meal support, including preparing meals based on dietary needs.
Provide care and monitoring for clients with seizure disorders and respond appropriately according to care protocols.
Observe and report any changes in the client’s physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervising nurse or care manager.
Health & Safety Support
Assist with medication reminders according to care plan and under the direction of a nurse or supervisor.
Perform routine health-related tasks (e.g., non-sterile dressing changes, basic skin care) under supervision.
Maintain safe and clean living environment, including light housekeeping related to client care (laundry, dishes, bed-making).
