As a Support Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support to Principal and Senior Engineers as part of a multi-disciplined team. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the preparation and delivery of project objectives within a multi-disciplinary design team.
- Ensuring all work is checked by a Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer.
- Identifying your training needs and developing your competence through a Personal Development Plan.
- Keeping up to date with technical developments, national and international standards.
- Compiling specifications, drawings, and relevant Contract documents to maintain technical quality.
- Providing electrical or mechanical building engineering services design under senior team supervision.
- Performing engineering calculations using Company standard engineering software.
- Ensuring assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.
- Identifying scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Results-oriented with strong problem-solving, technical realization, and coordination skills.
- Student member of a professional body such as ASHRAE, CIBSE, IET, MinstMC, MIHEEM.
- Registered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer certified by the Board of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Basic technical knowledge in primary discipline and understanding of Building Services Engineering.
- Appreciation of complementary specialisms like acoustics, fire engineering, and computer modeling.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
