Job Description
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for communicating the Agency's mission and purpose to the public.
2. Assists with potential state imposed sanctions/ CAPs to ensure that Benchmark Family Services complies and integrates trainings / information to remain compliant.
3. Serves as Agency representative on various county/managed care committees and assists in public
relations/activities.
4. Complies with paperwork requirements as established by state, contracts, standards, licensing, and Benchmark Family Services.
5. Assist in contract development with placing agencies as well as Policy & Procedure and forms development, as needed.
6. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals, and literature and attending in-services, conferences, and workshops.
7. Will be expected to travel to develop regions, regional offices, Corporate Office, In Services & trainings as needed.
8. May be responsible for establishing a regional office.
9. Assist Corporate Office in staff training responsibilities, labor relations, fiscal monitoring and other related duties as it pertains to contracts, licensing and Policies & Procedures.
10. Assist Corporate Office and Regional Directors with the planning and organizing of activities to generate public awareness in the community, at civic functions, and market the program, as well as developing regions identified for growth by Regional Director.
11. Attend State Standard Trainings and disseminates information about any changes being implemented to Staff, Corporate and Legal Advisor.
12. Conduct market analyses to identify out-of-home placement needs in target areas identified by Regional Directors, for development.
13. Will maintain contact with Assistant Executive Director or Designee to ensure coordination and progress of duties.
14. Responsible for supervising and directing state regional offices of Benchmark Family Services, Inc.
15. Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising professional and support staff. Completes/ reviews staff performance evaluations.
16. Collaborate with Director of Strategy and Development to evaluate overall performance of Regional Director’s in regards to both growth and development quality.
17. Assist with other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
1. Education - A Master’s Degree in mental health, counseling, social work, or human services related
field. Must provide appropriate licensure and certification.
2. Job Experience - At least three (3) years’ experience working with children/adolescents diagnosed with
emotional and behavioral issues. Familiarity with foster care processes and the ability to navigate related legal, social, and administrative frameworks.
3. Understanding of the unique needs of children and adolescents who receive services from multiple agencies as well as clients who are considered emotionally disturbed.
4. Knowledge of assessment, treatment planning, DSM-IVR and DSM-V. Understanding of third party
reimbursement and public funding sources for placements.
5. Knowledge of community resources and related agencies.
6. Interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication and interaction with referral sources, patients,
families, outside agency personnel, and other care providers when gathering and exchanging information.
This level of interpersonal skills requires a great deal of tact and diplomacy.
7. Effective presentation/public speaking skills.
8. Comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of medical/psychiatric diagnoses, treatment modalities,
therapeutic services, and intervention techniques.
