Community Outreach Representative

Baltimore Youth Got Talent (BYGT) - A subsidiary of Baltimore Teacher Network, is seeking a Community Outreach Representative (COR). BYGT is a new innovative program that provides a showcase for Baltimore's talented youth. We believe that talent flourishes where dreams are nurtured and hard work is celebrated. We are looking for a hard working self motivated individual to join our team as a Community Outreach Representative.

Essential Duties and Functions include but not limited to:

● Work with a team of organizers and outreach representatives

● Identify and foster relationships with existing community leaders and organizers

● Coordinate and develop all outreach initiatives for BYGT and BTN

● Ensure ample and informative materials about program services are available to explain, display and distribute;

● Maintain calendar of events to ensure logistical planning and continuity of events avoiding duplication and conflicting dates;

● Confirm all events/visit location to ensure space

● Set up displays and breakdown tables at all events as needed

● Understand BTN and BYGT’s mission to build, broaden and maintain outreach events

● Works with Executive Director or designee to evaluate and expand existing outreach activities

● Familiarity with social media platforms to share with community

● Ability to maintain a professional, friendly and favorable public image

● Uphold BTN’s Policy and Procedures

● Assumes other duties as assigned by Executive Director or Designee

Qualifications

● Organizational and coordination skills a must

● Problem-solving and excellent communication relations ability

● Ability to engage with youth and other community leaders

● Strong public relations skills

● Lived experience in the communities we serve is a plus

● Knowledge of marketing and promotion

● Independent decision-making and critical thinking skills.

● Must have the ability to effectively communicate, work with, inspire and motivate others

● Must have a car and be willing to drive locally (within Baltimore City)
