The Power System Engineer is responsible for the analysis, modeling, and validation of electrical power systems, with a strong focus on grid-connected equipment and system-level performance. The role supports projects across the full lifecycle, from tendering and feasibility studies through execution, testing, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with applicable grid codes, standards, and customer requirements.
As a Power System Engineer (Modeling Engineer), you will also be responsible for:
- Perform power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, transient and dynamic stability analyses.
- Develop, validate, and maintain dynamic models for generators, excitation systems (AVR), turbine-governor systems, and controls.
- Support grid interconnection and compliance studies in accordance with applicable grid codes and standards.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Controls, and System Engineers to ensure system-level integration.
- Support Sales and Tendering activities through technical studies and system evaluations.
- Provide technical support during project execution, factory testing, site activities, and commissioning.
- Build and maintain detailed power system models using ETAP, Power Factory, PSCAD, and PSS®E.
- Interpret and apply grid codes and standards (e.g., ENTSO-E, NERC, National Grid). Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal, customer and compliances.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Proven experience in power system modeling and analysis.
Strong understanding of power system dynamics and grid integration. Experience with grid codes and compliance processes. Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in power system modelling and simulation.
- Proficiency in DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, ETAP and PSS®E.
- Strong understanding of power system dynamics, control systems, and grid integration.
- Experience with governor, turbine, AVR, and generator model development.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation in Python, MATLAB, or similar tools is a plus.
