Position

Mine Engineer, UG, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Sr. Mine Engineer, UG, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the three (3) - month mine plan including development and stope design, planning, scheduling.
• Ensure short-term targets are aligned with the mid-term mine plan and develop the strategy for the short-term execution.
• Complete the preliminary stopes design, including the strategy for mining, ventilation and backfill.
• Coordinate operational projects, contractors and suppliers.
• Develop and lead operational optimization initiatives.
• Support permitting and reporting processes.
• Work closely with underground superintendents and shift bosses to ensure understanding and execution of the mine plans.
• Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut's health, safety and environment policies and procedures.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

• Three (3) years of relevant experience in underground mine engineering is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or Geological Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with Engineers and Geoscientists Nunavut, or the ability to obtain registration, is required.
• Proficiency in mining software such as Deswik (CAD, Sched, and IS) is required, and experience with VentSim and SAP is considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $161,500.00
