2026 Full Time Seasonal Civil Construction/ Telecommunication Foreman, Drillers/ Locators and Laborers

Axis Vac is seeking safety- driven, reliable candidates to join our staff and help grow our successful business as we meet the needs of our customers. We are currently seeking full time, professional telecommunication foreman, driller/locator teams, equipment operators and laborers for the 2026 construction season and beyond. Being able to work of town work is a requirement for the positions. We are looking to hire for multiple locations such as Regina, North Battleford, and Saskatoon. So if possible please indicate which job and which location would be preferable.
Qualifications for Foreman/Supervisors:
· Must possess and exhibit a strong safety insight
· PPM (preferred), First Aid, Fall Arrest, CSTS, H2S, WHMIS, TDG and Ground Disturbance are all required
· Work with Project Coordinator to lead, schedule, and supervise crews to deliver on projects.
· Ensure safe completion of project on time
· Analyze and interpret job specifications and provide direction as required.
· Coordinate and track personnel and equipment for projects.
· Ensure appropriate reporting and documentation throughout projects.
· Responsible for effective management of resources including people, materials, and equipment.
· Experience leading a crew of skilled laborers and operators.
· Experience with telecommunications and civil construction
· Ability to track and call in locates to one call
· Ability to interpret as-builds and drawings for construction
· Ability to operate heavy equipment (HDD, backhoe, skid steer, loader) is an asset.
· Critical thinking and mechanical inclination an asset
· Must be willing to work long hours outdoors all days of week.
· Ability to work out of town for projects
· Must have own transportation to shop/lay down
· Must have clean drivers abstract and valid license with class 5 required but 1A/3A preferred
· Will report to construction/operations manager
Qualifications for Driller/Locators/Equipment Operators:
· Will be required to use directional drill to place conduit under driveways, sidewalks, residential streets, back lanes and yards
· Pathway and mainline drilling required
· Familiar with Vermeer directional drills, F2- F5 locators
· Familiar with Heavy Equipment Operation including vibratory plow, trenchers, plow cat, dozer, and backhoe operations.
· Completing pre and post inspections on all equipment
· Using both hand tools and power tools to assist in work procedures
· Ensure that the HDPE (conduit) has been buried correctly and is working up to standard
· Must identify all unsafe working conditions
· Must possess and exhibit a strong safety insight
· First Aid, Fall Arrest, CSTS, H2S, WHMIS, TDG and Ground Disturbance preferred
· Ensure safe completion of project on time
· Analyze and interpret job specifications and provide direction as required.
· Experience with telecommunications installation including fiber to the home
· Interpret as builds and drawings for construction
· Experience with underground utilities (SaskEnergy, SaskPower, SaskTel, and Fiber Optic) and other civil construction work.
· Critical thinking and mechanical inclination an asset
· Must be willing to work long hours outdoors all days of week.
· Must have own transportation to shop/lay down
· Current driver’s license with 1A and/or G endorsement preferred
Qualification for Aerial Installers/Electricians:
· Must identify all unsafe working conditions and possess and exhibit a strong safety insight
· Follows Axis’ EHS Policy and program
· Ensure safe completion of project on time
· Analyze and interpret job specifications safely
· Must be willing to work long hours outdoors in all weather conditions all days of week
· Must have own reliable transportation to work
· Must provide a clean driver’s abstract
· 2+ years previous experience including working at height and operating a bucket van or truck
· Experience with telecommunication installation including fibre to the premise (lashing, pulling fibre)
· Interpret as builds and drawings for construction
· First Aid, Fall Arrest, and CSTS or SCOT required
· Valid Class 5 license
· Valid trade certificate (Journeyperson Electrician)
Qualification for Laborers:
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
· Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
· Telecom, Fiber to the Premise experience an asset
· Valid Class 5 license mandatory with "G" endorsement preferred
· Must provide a clean driver’s abstract showing class 5
· Cable pulling an asset
· Conduit/pipe fusing/laying an asset
· Other duties as required
