This pivotal role will be responsible for defining the long-term vision, technology roadmap, and overall commercial strategy for all innovative sensor solutions, including but not limited to RFID apparel sensors.

The Director - Sensors will manage both the Technical Design Product Manager (focused on the design/definition phase) and the Product Line Manager (focused on commercialization/lifecycle management) to create a cohesive and high-impact sensor offering. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with deep expertise in sensor technologies, a comprehensive understanding of the apparel industry, and the ability to translate complex technology into scalable, market-leading products that drive significant business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a hybrid role based out of Dallas, TX.

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision: Lead the development and communication of the comprehensive, multi-year sensor strategy and technology roadmap for the apparel division, ensuring alignment with global business objectives and emerging market trends.

  • Team & Process Management: Directly manage and mentor the Technical Design Product Manager and Sensors Product Line Manager while ensuring seamless collaboration and handoffs between the design/strategy phase and the commercialization/lifecycle phase.

  • Product & Technology Strategy: Provide oversight of sensor design strategy and technical requirements, guiding technical product teams in translating customer insights into clear product specifications while continuously evaluating new technologies and platforms.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment & Divisional Liaison: Serve as the primary subject matter expert to senior leadership and act as the primary liaison between the Apparel division and Intelligent Labels division to align sensor roadmaps, coordinate innovation priorities, and leverage shared technology platforms.

  • Go-to-Market Strategy & Ecosystem Development: Partner closely with Marketing and Sales to develop winning go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and value propositions while driving strategic relationships with key customers, technology partners, and industry bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Industry Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field (MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred) with 8+ years of specialized experience in RFID technology, preferably within the apparel or retail supply chain sector.

  • Strategic & Technical Leadership: Proven track record in developing and communicating multi-year technology roadmaps and business strategies that align with global objectives, alongside exceptional executive communication skills.

  • People & Portfolio Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor cross-functional teams (specifically Technical Design Product Managers and Product Line Managers) while overseeing the entire product portfolio from innovation to lifecycle management.

  • Cross-Functional & Divisional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to act as a primary liaison between divisions—such as Apparel and Intelligent Labels—to coordinate innovation priorities and leverage shared technology platforms.

  • Commercial Acumen & Ecosystem Management: Strong background in partnering with Marketing and Sales to develop go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and value propositions, as well as building strategic relationships with key customers, technology partners, and industry bodies.
