Role: iSeries Developer – ACBS

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 3-6+ months

Rates:$90/hr to $110/hr

We are seeking a seasoned Developer with deep technical roots in the IBMi (AS/400) ecosystem and specialized experience in the FIS ACBS platform. This role is critical for an organization bridging legacy financial infrastructure with modern DevOps practices. You will be responsible for end-to-end development—from low-level RPG/CL logic to Java-based integrations—ensuring high-performance data processing within an Agile framework.

Core Responsibilities

• ACBS Platform Mastery: Lead the programming, troubleshooting, and enhancement of the FIS ACBS (Advanced Commercial Banking System) platform, utilizing LANSA to drive system efficiency.
• Database & Logic Development: Design and optimize complex DB2 SQL queries and Stored Procedures to handle high-volume financial transactions.
• Hybrid Java/CL Development: Architect solutions using CL and Java (developed on Windows and deployed to IBMi) to enable modern functionality within the legacy environment.
• System Connectivity: Manage secure data transmissions and integrations using MQ, SSL Certificates, and Web Services, ensuring the integrity of Capital Markets data.
• DevOps Evolution: Transition legacy workflows into modern CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Nexus to accelerate delivery cycles.

Technical Qualifications

• IBMi Proficiency: Extensive experience in IBMi/AS400 environments, specifically with CL and LANSA development.
• Financial Domain Expertise: Proven track record with the FIS ACBS vendor product; previous experience in Capital Markets is highly preferred.
• Modern Development Tools: Hands-on experience with Java for IBMi and building automated DevOps pipelines.
• Database Expert: Strong DB2 database programming skills, focusing on performance tuning and complex stored procedures.
• Agile Mindset: Ability to thrive in an Agile/Scrum environment, taking full ownership of deliverables with minimal oversight.

The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and be comfortable working in a dynamic project environment.
