Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Space Systems Intern to contribute to ongoing research and development in orbital mechanics, space system dynamics, and AI-assisted aerospace applications. This role is designed for candidates interested in hands-on experience with real-world aerospace problems, including simulation, modeling, and intelligent system design.
This is a bona fide internship opportunity with a clear scope of work, intended for candidates pursuing careers in aerospace engineering, astrodynamics, or AI-driven space technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and simulate orbital dynamics models for Earth-orbiting satellites
- Work on space mission scenario development, including trajectory propagation and analysis
- Assist in building AI/ML-assisted tools for guidance, navigation, and control
- Support development of space simulation environments (MATLAB, Python, Unity, or equivalent)
- Perform data analysis and visualization for space system performance metrics
- Contribute to documentation, reports, and technical presentations
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in:
- Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related fields
- Strong fundamentals in at least one of the following:
- Orbital mechanics / astrodynamics
- Flight dynamics and control
- Numerical simulation methods
- Programming experience in MATLAB or Python
- Basic understanding of linear algebra, differential equations, and physics-based modeling
Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory)
- Experience with space mission analysis tools or simulation frameworks
- Exposure to reinforcement learning, machine learning, or AI in control systems
- Familiarity with Unity, PyBullet, or similar simulation environments
- Prior project or research experience in aerospace or robotics
