Job Description
ATI Canada is currently looking for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year Heavy Duty Technician Apprentice to support our operations in Fort McMurray. This is a full time local position.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Inspect service trucks and support equipment for proper performance and detect faults and malfunctions
- Operate computer-based software for troubleshooting
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- Maintain housekeeping and organization of the workshop and premises
- Acknowledge and adhere to all safety standards as outlined by ATI Canada
- Complete paperwork, reports, and inspections accurately, keep them current and organized
- Maintain positive interactions with co-workers, clients, supervisors, treating everyone with respect
- Complete and submit daily timesheets in an accurate and timely manner
- Maintain provided tooling in good condition.
- Record daily vehicle mileage logs and pre-trip inspections for all equipment
- Maintain a high level of respect and cleanliness for service and company trucks
- Operate company vehicles in strict accordance with traffic rules and weather conditions
- Assist management in challenging and improving the health and safety program
- Shall participate in the company’s safety program, understanding that safety is everyone’s role and is a part of their everyday duties.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in Heavy Duty Mechanic 3 or 4 year program
- Class 5 driver’s license / clean driver's abstract needed
Employment Package
- Hourly rate dependent on experience
- 4% Vacation Pay
- Monday to Friday schedule
- 8-hour shifts, dayshift only. Potential overtime

- Five Paid Sick Days on an Annual Basis
