Snowflake DBA Administrator, Senior Associate

We are looking for a Senior Snowflake Database Reliability Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure Engineering division. As part of the team, you will ensure the continuous availability of the technologies and systems that are the foundation of athenahealth's services. Your role will involve directly managing over a thousand databases, petabytes of storage, and handling thousands of web requests per second, all while sustaining growth at a meteoric rate. You will play a crucial part in enabling an operating system for the medical office that abstracts away administrative complexity, leaving doctors free to practice medicine. Key Responsibilities:

• Leverage the principles of database resilience engineering to ensure the stability, security, performance, and scalability of Snowflake systems and services.
• Ensure product success through the strategic use of technologies such as Snowflake, AWS S3, and Oracle Golden Gate.
• Develop software-based, automated solutions to core business problems.
• Design and implement software services that support Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
• Document processes related to database design, configuration, and performance.
• Ability to document project work and produce Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for the priority issues.
• Mentor database administrators and provide them with technical support.
• Work collaboratively across the Technology and Product organizations to ensure alignment towards business goals.

Qualifications Required:

• 6 years of experience building, scaling, and supporting highly available systems and services.
• Expertise in the delivery, maintenance, and support of Snowflake databases.
• Experience with AWS S3.
• Deep understanding of relational database design and SQL.
• Experience with Oracle tools, utilities, Oracle version upgrades, migrations, and patching.
• Strong knowledge and working experience in RAC, GoldenGate, and DataGuard.
• Experience in Automation frameworks like Ansible/Puppet is a plus.
• Experience with Oracle Golden Gate is a plus.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language preferred (Python, Ansible).
• Expertise in promoting and driving system visibility to aid in the rapid detection and resolution of issues.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
