What we will accomplish together :

Within the framework of the Project, the assignment involves the provision of engineering services for the conceptual, basic, and detailed design of equipment and civil/structural works related to an existing hydroelectric power plant.

The Engineer will support and work in close coordination with the project teams and the client.

Your mission (…should you choose to accept it!) :

Position Objectives

• Perform engineering studies and designs required for modifications to existing installations
• Produce all required engineering deliverables up to detailed design level
• Ensure regulatory compliance and professional certification of engineering documents
• Provide technical support during design, approval, and construction phases

Your daily responsibilities will include :

Studies and Design

• Perform conceptual design, basic design, and detailed design activities
• Review the project specifications and identify contractual requirements
• Define technical interfaces with adjacent systems and structures
• Develop the design basis and perform associated engineering calculations

Engineering Deliverables

• Prepare and update the following deliverables:
• Engineering calculation notes
• General arrangement and layout drawings
• Fabrication drawings
• 3D models and geometries in STP format (when required)
• AutoCAD drawings
• Detailed Bills of Materials in accordance with the template
• Installation drawings and procedures
• Compile and maintain the design folder, including design review meeting minutes

Coordination and Validation

• Present the execution plan and engineering deliverables to the project representative
• Submit engineering documents to the client for review and approval
• Incorporate client and company engineer comments (updates, revisions, markups)
• Ensure full traceability of design changes

Construction Phase Support

• Provide remote technical support during construction activities
• Be available for punctual travel to the site in Ontario, as required
• Provide technical clarifications and update documentation during site execution

Certification and Compliance

• All documents and drawings requiring professional certification shall be signed and stamped by a licensed Professional Engineer in the applicable jurisdiction
• In Ontario, the Engineer must hold PEO registration or work under compliant supervision

You :

Education

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
• PEO registration

Experience

• Proven experience in engineering design within industrial or energy environments
• Experience with existing facilities and complex interfaces
• Experience in hydroelectric projects and/or concrete structures is an asset

Skills

• Proficiency with engineering design tools (AutoCAD, 3D modeling)
• Ability to produce clear and structured calculation notes and design documentation
• Strong attention to documentation quality and regulatory compliance
• Effective technical coordination and client communication skills

Languages

• Professional English required
• French is an asset
