We provide custom mica materials and parts to a broad client base and frequently fabricate components using synergistic materials such as aerogels, Nomex, Kapton, carbon fiber, and FR/G composites.
Position Summary
We are seeking a proven Solutions Sales Engineer to expand and nurture our customer base while leveraging inbound inquiries. The ideal candidate will have experience with engineered products in automotive, defense, or aerospace applications, particularly in thermal or dielectric use cases.
Based at our new headquarters in City Center, Newport News, VA, this role requires a strong understanding of engineered materials, customer-facing technical support, and applications across the automotive, BESS, and aerospace industries. Experience with technical product development, defense contractor programs, and/or a military background is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Seek out new client opportunities and collaborate with the engineering and purchasing teams of both prospective and existing clients to achieve product solutions.
- Work with management to establish sales targets for designated customers and prospects
- Develop deep technical knowledge of engineered products and contribute to next-generation solutions
- Manage and grow an existing book of business across defense, aerospace, and energy markets
- Identify and address unique customer challenges requiring innovative materials or processes
- Provide technical solutions for customer inquiries, including pricing and relationship management
- Serve as a market and product specialist contributing to overall business development strategy
- Travel occasionally for larger projects and trade shows
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience; automotive or aerospace background preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in B2B industrial or technical solutions sales
- Demonstrated success growing business within a defined market, region, or product line
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with CAD, ERP, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office; Oracle or NetSuite experience is a plus
- Military background is a plus
