About the Organisation:

Asansol Burdwan Seva Kendra (ABSK) is a state-level non-governmental organization and the social service wing of the Asansol Diocese, registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act. Since 1998, ABSK has been working with rural communities across Purba Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, Bankura, and Birbhum districts of West Bengal in partnership with national and international organizations. The organization has extensive experience in implementing agriculture, livelihood, community development, and social welfare initiatives.

About the Project:

ABSK is seeking qualified and motivated professionals for an Agriculture and Livelihood Development Project covering 14 villages in Bhatar Block, Purba Bardhaman District. The project aims to enhance agricultural productivity, improve rural livelihoods, and promote sustainable farming practices among farming communities.

Educational Qualifications:

Project Coordinator- Master’s Degree in Social Work / Sociology / Rural Development

Experiences and Skills Required:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Agriculture and rural Livelihood projects
• Experience in reporting and documentation
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Ability to coordinate field activities and stakeholder engagement
• Willingness to travel extensively in project areas

Agriculture Expert- Bachelor’s in Agriculture/ Horticulture

Experiences and Skills Required:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in agriculture-related work
• Experience in reporting and documentation
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Willingness to travel extensively in project areas

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Coordinator

• Liaise with relevant government departments at District, Block, and Gram Panchayat levels.
• Facilitate formation and strengthening of SHGs and Farmer Groups (FGs).
• Coordinate day-to-day project implementation with field staff.
• Conduct weekly and monthly review meetings with project personnel.
• Monitor project progress and achievement of targets.
• Undertake regular field visits (minimum 70% field engagement).
• Maintain project records and submit monthly progress reports.
• Prepare reports for the organization and funding partners.

Agriculture Expert

• Provide technical guidance and advisory support to farmers.
• Support project staff with field-level technical recommendations.
• Conduct field assessments and identify opportunities for agricultural interventions.
• Liaise with relevant government departments at District, Block, and Gram Panchayat levels.
• Support formation and monitoring of SHGs and Farmer Groups (FGs).
• Conduct regular field visits and capacity-building activities for farmers.
• Undertake regular field visits (minimum 70% field engagement).
